Oldest chippie in London

One of the oldest fish-n-chips joints in London, founded in 1871 and still going strong in the heart of the Covent Garden neighborhood, just up the block from Seven Dials.

(This location does come with more than its share of fellow tourists, as well as some eyebrow raising prices.)

It has indoor seating on two floors, and a terrace out on the sidewalk.

They serve fried cod, haddock, skate, sole, and—of course—plaice, as well as scampi and fishcakes and several meat pies for lanlubbing appetites (steak & kidney, beef & onion, chicken & mushoom, Cornish pastie, etc.).
