The best hostel in Bath lies just a few blocks north of Bath Abbey right above Belushi's, a pub with big windows a sports-bar vibe. Belushi's doubles as the hostel's reception desk—and where hostel guests get 25% off food and 2-for-1 drinks specials.

Rates start at just under £10 (though usually range £12–£16) for a single bed in a shared dorm

The rooms are a mix of private doubles and two-bunk rooms as well as 6– and 12–bed mixed-gender dorms and a 6-bed female-only dorm (though note that all the shared baths are coed).

Though you do have to pay for luggage storage, you do get a pretty ample (if uninspired) free continental breakfast, free WiFi, and a free city walking tour.

The staff is generally quite friendly, but there aren't many shared facilities, just a "chillout room." The fact that there is a public pub associated with the place does mean you can get a bit of a party vibe here, especially on weekends, so light sleepers beware.

Directly across the street is the imposing flank of a church, just behind which is a convenient Waitrose grocery store.
